BOM presents a special space celebrating ‘Birmingham’s Baton’, we are of course referring to the Queen’s Baton which BOM helped to create.
Working in partnership with Raymont Osman product designers, Kajul engineers and MAOKWO arts and social justice organisation, BOM led the technology development for the Queen’s Baton which has been collecting data and stories as it has travelled the world prior to the Games taking place in Birmingham from 28 July 2022.
From Friday 29 July – Monday 8 August, the Baton will be in Residence at BOM so you can have a closer look and learn about the fantastic features it has, making it the first ever ‘smart’ baton. The exhibition will continue from 8 August – 27 August.
Find out about the 294 day journey the Baton has taken across the globe. Meet the extraordinary change makers who are driving positive change in environmental and community issues, and experience brand new data artworks exploring air quality data from across the Commonwealth by BOM Artist Resident Antonio Roberts and Canadian Artist Fezz Stenton.
