From Friday 29 July to Saturday 6 August, Coventry Stadium & Arena will be home to Judo, Wrestling and Rugby Sevens.
As an existing arena that already operates for large scale events, the road and parking restrictions will be in line with what currently happens on event days.
To help reduce traffic in and around venues, spectators at the events will be encouraged to use public transport, with the cost included in their event tickets. Additional bus services are being planned from Coventry city centre train station.
These areas will be busier than usual so please plan ahead and look at alternatives to driving, like walking or cycling for shorter journeys, taking public transport or travelling at a different time to avoid peak times.
We will be continuously updating this area of the website as planning moves forward and we get closer to the Games, so keep coming back to see the latest information.
Travel Advice
To keep you moving throughout the Games, check which areas, roads and rail routes will be busiest with our Travel Advice page. In the event of rail industrial action, the bus network will be extremely busy with demand from spectators, especially over the weekends.
Heavy goods vehicles
Due to traffic restrictions in the area, heavy goods vehicles will be diverted to travel down Rowley’s Green Lane and Wilson’s Lane while there are events taking place at Coventry Stadium & Arena between 29 July - 7 August. The bridge parapet will be protected and traffic management will be on site managing vehicles using this as a diversion. There will be additional signage to protect the existing weight restriction in the area.
