Myton Fields, Warwick will be the start and finish venue for the Cycling Road Races on Sunday 7 August.

To facilitate such a big event, there will be restrictions in place to support the operation of the Games and reduce the impact on local residents and businesses.

Road Closures

Roads will be closed inside and around the course to ensure the safety of spectators, athletes and residents, and to facilitate the smooth running of the event.

Many of these closures will be in place from 3AM to 7PM on Sunday 7 August, with some exceptions. Myton Road, between Banbury Road (A425) and Myton Gardens Road will be closed from 10AM on 3 August to 8PM on 8 August; access for all residents and businesses on Myton Road will be maintained from Europa Way / Old Warwick Roundabout.

For more detail and find out whether your road will be closed, please see the “Affected Roads” section below.

Please note: Parking will be restricted along the entire Road Race course from 6PM on Saturday 6 August until 7PM on Sunday 7 August. During this time, it will not be possible for you to park your vehicle on these roads. Any vehicles parked on the course will be towed to ensure the safety of athletes, officials and the public.

If you live along the course or your residence is inside the course route, it is strongly recommended that you look at the road closure information and, the night before the competition, park on streets where access will be maintained (however, existing parking permits will not be suspended).

Free car parking is available in the following locations between 6PM Saturday 6 August and 8AM Monday 8 August for residents who require their vehicle to be off the road race route or outside the course footprint:

  • Cape Road car park, Warwick
  • Barrack Street car park, Warwick
  • Saltisford car park, Warwick
  • St Nicholas' Park car park, Warwick*
  • Morrisons, Leamington Spa

*Can only be used in conjunction with a resident parking permit displayed in vehicle.

Pedestrian access to closed roads will remain, and manned crossing points will be in place along the route.

Vehicle Crossing Points

A number of crossing points will be available around the course, that will enable you to enter/leave the area within the course. The majority of these will be in operation between 3AM and 7.15AM, and 4.45PM and 7PM, on the day of the race, with some exceptions.

For details of the locations of these, and times of operation, please see the “Affected Roads” section below.
