Project Details

Young people with complex needs suffer terribly from marginalisation. Although those with severe needs are often accommodated, there remains a group with difficulties that don't manifest in a way that they are deemed to meet a number of criteria's or labelled as being 'naughty'. This group of young people with sensory processing difficulties, mental health conditions, social anxiety and behavioural difficulties often find it hard to find a place where they belong.

At RUOE we provide a place of belonging and we seek out opportunities such reaffirm this message that they are accepted and valued and worthy of inclusivity and belonging. We have done a lot of research that suggests that once a young person has this they then become empowered and have enough self-belief to become more involved with their community.
