Project Details

Sport Birmingham created Birmingham's Inclusive Sports Fest (BISF) to bring families and carers together to celebrate equal opportunity and social action in an inspiring community space. BISF has run since 2013 and is organised and delivered by disabled people to raise awareness of sport, health and wellbeing activities and encourage those who would benefit most to try something new.

BISF aims to promote and celebrate access to fun, inclusive activities that empower people to take control of their health and wellbeing. The project connects sport, health, social care and community services with young people, families, vulnerable adults and carers. People involved in BISF are consulted to understand better what support they need to make sport and physical activity part of their lifestyle, identifying ways to make local activities even more inclusive.
