Project Details

Kick Start is a D1C1 initiative that brings communities together and encourages young people to engage with sport in a fun and safe environment. We aim to kick start positive change by challenging young people to step outside of their comfort zone and reach their full potential.

Our launch event, supported by the Commonwealth sports federation and Birmingham Children’s Trust (BFriends), will provide Young people who are in care and the wider community with a fun day of sporting activity.

We aim to ‘unlock the games’ through fun and engaging sports challenges with lots of prize giveaways and bring the community together by incorporating local business providers. We will create an environment where young people from marginalised communities can challenge themselves, work together and engage in sports activities in preparation for the Commonwealth Games 2022.
