Other Isles is a celebration of art and culture from the Cypriot and Maltese diaspora, showcasing music poetry and art made by artists connected to Cyprus and Malta.
The event gives these artists a platform to share their voices and opens the opportunity for the diaspora community to experience art they may recognise themselves in. Cyprus and Malta are the only European Countries involved in the Commonwealth Games, in which Other Isles creates a project that brings the two communities together.
Catch headliner Birminghams Metz Jnr and his six-piece powerhouse bringing the tastiest grooves & thought-provoking lyricism alongside one of the most exciting poets in the UK, Jamie Thrasivoulous. Rea, alternative rapper and activist will be collaborating on a video piece with Gamze Sanli as well as live Hip-Hop from Eleftherios and Moving image by Andonis Trattos with live score by Craig Rogerson.

Maltese Language Workshop
An open workshop offering an introduction into the Maltese Language. Donna Borg is an experienced teacher of the Maltese Language who's taught 100's of students from all around the world as well as establishing Maltese Language projects and courses in the UK. This workshop will be a perfect opportunity for anyone interested in learning Maltese. The workshop will consist of a mixture of speaking and listening as well as some conversation work.
