Australia thrash India to win men's Hockey gold
The Kookaburras were 5-0 up by half-time in a dominant display.
Australia kept up their record of winning every men's Hockey tournament at the Commonwealth Games with a 7-0 victory over India.
Nathan Ephraums and Jacob Anderson both scored twice, with Tom Wickham, Blake Govers and Flynn Ogilvie also on target as Australia won their seventh men's Commonwealth Hockey title at the University of Birmingham Hockey and Squash Centre.
The Kookaburras were 5-0 up by half-time in a dominant display which left India - who reached the final with a shoot-out win over New Zealand - with no chance of toppling the favourites.
Govers was delighted to have saved their best performance for the final, saying: "We definitely did. That’s what we pride ourselves on. It’s awesome to do it without too much of a heart problem.
"We had to play with confidence and play forward and take the game on from the start, and that’s what we did."
The bronze medal had earlier gone to England after a 5-3 win over South Africa.
