Alex Bishop is co-Head of Shoosmiths’ Birmingham office and national head of Dispute Resolution and Litigation. Shoosmiths is one of the largest law firms in the city. Alex was awarded the title ‘Inspiring Leader’ at the Birmingham Young Professional of the Year awards in 2019 and was named in The Lawyer’s ‘Hot 100’ lawyers of 2021.

Alex has held roles on the Boards of Birmingham Forward, Birmingham Professional DiverCity and on steering groups for Aston University, BSEEN (Birmingham Skills for Enterprise & Employability Network) and a number of charities including Marie Curie’s capital appeal resulting in a brand-new state of the art hospice for the West Midlands.

Alex chaired the Independent Advisory Panel for Colmore BID’s Future Business District study culminating in the launch of ‘The Space Between’ report in October 2021, she also helped co-ordinate the ‘Birmingham Business Pledge’ setting out the professional & financial services sector’s support for the city post-pandemic.
